Delightful husky dog welcomes guests. Unique wooden breakfast bar and shelving in kitchen/diner. Plenty of cutlery and crockery. Three en-suite bedrooms provide great space for families. No WiFi encouraged genuine conversation.

We had an amazing stay at this remote location. The beautiful bird songs during the day and the owl hooting at night made it even more delightful. The property had spacious and clean bedrooms, each with a large shower and great water pressure. The cooking facilities were excellent and the beds were comfortable. The hosts were lovely and helpful but not intrusive. The husky dog gave us a wonderful welcome, especially to our teenagers. The unique wooden breakfast bar and shelving in the kitchen/diner were a hit with us. There was plenty of cutlery and crockery available. The cottage provided a perfect base for our family of five, with three en-suite bedrooms and ample space. We even survived two nights without WiFi and actually enjoyed talking to each other!
Nothing, it is perfect.

Located in a stunning spot with clear skies, perfect for stargazing if the clouds cooperate. Beds were comfy, and the shower was fantastic. We loved the table and fire pit outside. The nearby town, just a short drive away, had great restaurants and a supermarket for convenience.
No wifi, which can be a bummer for some, but we enjoyed the break. A washing machine would have been useful for longer stays, and more storage options in the bedrooms would have been nice.

I had a wonderful stay at this charming cottage. The warm welcome from a friendly husky dog was a delightful surprise for my teenagers. The spacious three-bedroom layout with en-suite bathrooms provided plenty of space for our family of five. The unique wooden breakfast bar and shelving in the kitchen/diner added a special touch. The cleanliness of the property was exceptional, with comfortable beds and fantastic showers. The location was remote and beautiful, surrounded by the soothing sound of birdsong, including a cuckoo during the day and an owl at night. The property's proximity to a winding river was a bonus for my Labrador. The hosts were lovely and provided helpful assistance without being intrusive.
All was good.

I had the most amazing stay at a charming cottage nestled in a picturesque location. Surrounded by the soothing sounds of birdsong, including a cuckoo during the day and an owl at night, I felt truly close to nature. The cottage itself was spotless with well-equipped facilities for cooking and comfortable beds for a good night's sleep. The hosts were lovely and struck the perfect balance between being helpful and respectful of our privacy. I especially appreciated the warm welcome from their delightful husky dog, which made my teenagers' day. The cottage's unique wooden breakfast bar and shelving added a special touch to the kitchen. It is worth mentioning that the lack of WiFi actually encouraged quality family time and conversation. Lastly, the location was ideal for stargazing, and although the clouds obstructed our view, I can imagine it would be a fantastic experience. I highly recommend this cottage for a memorable stay.

The location of the cottage is absolutely stunning, surrounded by nature and with a beautiful winding river nearby. The bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms with large showers and great water pressure. The beds are comfortable and the property is very clean. The hosts are friendly and helpful, providing a warm welcome and showing us around the house.
There are no laundry facilities in the cottage, which would have been useful, especially for longer stays.

What an epic stay! From the moment we arrived and were greeted by the coolest husky ever, we knew this place was going to be awesome. Dave was super friendly and showed us around the house, and we were immediately blown away by the unique wooden breakfast bar and shelves in the kitchen/diner. There were plenty of cutlery and crockery available, which was GREAT for our family of five. And get this - all three bedrooms had en-suites with massive showers and amazing water pressure. Talk about luxury! The whole place was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed, including a fully equipped kitchen for some top-notch cooking. The beds were so comfortable, and the showers were jaw-droppingly fantastic. Our labrador had a blast exploring the winding river that bounded the property, and the remote location had us surrounded by mesmerizing birdsong - we even heard a cuckoo during the day and an owl at night! The cottage itself was just gorgeous, with a table and fire pit outside that we totally took advantage of. We only stayed for one night, but man, we wish we could have stayed longer. And even though the clouds blocked our stargazing plans, we still had an unforgettable time. Newton Stewart was just a short 15-minute drive away, so we had easy access to restaurants and a Sainsburys supermarket. And hey, shoutout to the hosts for being so lovely - they were super helpful but never invasive. Oh, and one last thing - no WiFi for our three teenagers, but they actually survived! We all ended up talking to each other and had a blast. Score! this place was the bomb - super happy we stayed here.
